Wonderful reflections. Thank you for sharing. This: "without the bullying and the angst." I feel this sentiment so deeply as I embark on the next book and wish, wish, wish, wish, I had been gentler on myself the first time around. Always learning.
Hi Josh, I'm so happy to hear that you arrived there, too, AND that you are writing a new book. I really appreciate your essays and love to live vicariously through your travels.
Holding things lightly and also fully appreciating the individual moments we pass through is the paradoxical lesson of an examined life. It is such a blessing to know that this passing through isn't something we have to do alone. Indeed, "We're all just walking each other home."
This is so well said, Pete. And it's so hard, right? I write about it and of course don't get it right half the time, but writing as an act of witness does help create the new grooves we hope to walk in more of the time, at least for me. Thank you for these words.
Hi Helen. Your book was read by all the members of our book group; everyone loved it, and it sparked a lively discussion. Congratulations on the paperback, and the cover art by Wren is outstanding.
Your writing is a gift. I go back and re-read pages of The Salt Stones to soothe my soul. I can’t recall a book that has lingered in my mind for so long. Thank you for putting your words, your art, into the world.

Always good to read an update from you. From a fan of living with the land.

Thank you, Ellen. I’ll be at Northshire on August 7th, and I’d love to see you. I’m sure your gardens are stunning right now.

Erica, thank you for this kindness. I'm so glad the story found you, and you carry it forward. That means the world to me.
