Sharing your anguish with us is both a gift and, hopefully, a gengle balm for you. Thank you. The offending situations are still there after the words find the paper. They are separate from you/us, and by putting them out there we can see them as things that can be noticed and then responded to. The same can be said for the thoughts and emotions that appear in response. We can recognize, too, that they will pass as all things must. Making tea or soup help ground us in the present and help us remember that, while the pain is real, our suffering is something that *we* have created. We can let it go or hang onto it - our choice! Inhale the smell of the sheep barn, or the tea, or the soup. Our little brains only have room for one thought at a time. I'm so grateful for that limitation.

I also thank you deeply and echo the comments made below. You are so articulately expressing what so many of us are feeling right now- anger, rage, disbelief at what is happening around us, but we must keep fighting, and grounding ourselves in nature- which you model for all of us. Your words are delicious, moving, raw, honest and observant.Thank you for your honest reflections on your dadd's journey. For those of us who have walked this path with parents, we understand and are there with you.

Who’d have thought a dog’s breakfast would have such a raw beauty to it?!
